Abstract In order to pursue three-dimensional limit equilibrium analysis methods to widely practical applications, an interactive visualization system software 3D_SLOPE for slope stability analysis has been developed. It contains the pre-processor, the limit equilibrium analysis solver and the post-processor. In the pre-processor, the construction of three-dimensional geological model of the slope structure provides geoinformation presentation for the limit equilibrium solver. In the post-processor, the effective three-dimensional visualization of data sets can assist the user with interpretation and analysis of the calculation results. The 3D_SLOPE system combined 3-D visualization of geoinformation in slope engineering with limit equilibrium analysis for slope stability.
